Mariela and Georgi are two young people very much in love. The kind of love where you see them laughing and crying together, noticing the little things, and joining their lives not because of expectation, formality or simply the next logical step in life — but because nothing less could possibly do. Vulnerable. Honest. Real. And what better place to celebrate that than the surreal Omaya Eco Village, surrounded by nature and far from the ordinary? This was a wedding that felt like something out of a fairytale and yet incredibly true to who they are.

THE STORY

As a wedding photographer I often get told I have a great job and I must really love it. And while it is definitely true, often times it’s very easy to get stuck in a rut, just as with anything else. Not appreciating the moments as you go through yet again the next event. The wedding of Mariela and Georgi though, had something special that stopped me in my tracks and made me newly appreciate the importance of why I do what I do. Being able to capture all that and preserve for them this moment when they fully commit to each other — that’s priceless.
